T.I.N. Policy

Community Guidelines

The rules that help keep T.I.N. safe and useful.

Effective 3 Aug 2026

Respect people and the law

Do not threaten, harass, stalk, bully, demean, or target people based on protected characteristics. Do not post content that promotes violence, terrorism, criminal activity, self-harm, or dangerous misinformation. We may remove, restrict, or report content that creates a credible risk of harm.

Do not share another person’s private or identifying information, including addresses, phone numbers, financial information, private images, or government identifiers, without a lawful basis and their permission. Do not sexualise, exploit, or endanger children; report suspected child-safety risks immediately.

Be authentic and do not manipulate the service

Do not impersonate people or organisations, use deceptive identities, operate coordinated inauthentic accounts, artificially inflate engagement, scrape or automate access without permission, or distribute scams, phishing, malware, or spam.

Labels, badges, and reputation indicators are not endorsements. Do not buy, sell, transfer, or falsely claim verification, status, reach, or rewards. We may remove deceptive activity and reverse benefits linked to manipulation.

Claims, evidence, and intellectual property

Strong opinions and lawful criticism are welcome. Serious allegations about identifiable people or organisations must not be reckless, fabricated, or presented as fact without a reasonable basis. Accountability reports may be held for evidence review and a right of reply.

Post only material you have the right to share. Respect copyright, trade marks, privacy, and other rights. Use the Takedown Request page to report allegedly unlawful or infringing content, and provide the information needed for us to assess the report.

Enforcement and appeals

We use a combination of automated signals and human review. Depending on severity, context, and repeat behaviour, we may label content, reduce its distribution, remove it, restrict features, suspend or remove accounts, or make a report where law requires. We may preserve relevant records for investigation and legal compliance.

If you believe an enforcement decision was wrong, use the available in-product appeal route or our Appeals Policy. Attempts to evade enforcement, retaliate against reporters, or abuse the appeal process may lead to additional restrictions.
